This beautiful land stretching between the Beskids and the Tatra Mountains and the Pieniny is full of old villages and monuments of old folk architecture. Beautiful river valleys and attractive towns have their charm and make Podhale one of the regions most visited by tourists in Poland. It is here, in Podhale, where the famous Zakopane and the important city center, Nowy Targ. What is worth knowing about this picturesque land? Podhale is a tectonic sinkhole, whose creation is closely related to Alpine tectonic movements. There are peat bogs in this area, which are very valuable from the point of view of naturalists. Podhale's great advantage is thermal waters, which favor the creation of swimming pools and thermal baths. They are one of the main tourist attractions of Podhale, and there are plenty of those willing to swim in warm water. Podhale is also a fascinating highlander folklore. This folklore can be seen in Podhale at every turn: in architecture, costumes, rituals, speech and music. Valuable monuments of Podhale are, among others, wooden churches in Dębno Podhalański and in Łopuszna. They are also souvenirs and places associated with famous people, such as the house and museum of Jan Kasprowicz at Harenda and the villa "Atma" associated with Karol Szymanowski.
