Tatra Mountains and Podhale

Tatras oo the highest mountain range in Poland and one of the highest in the Carpathians. The highest peak is Rysy (2499 m a.s.l.). The most popular and most visited is Kasprowy Wierch (1987 m a.s.l.). Zakopane is the largest city in the Tatra Mountains. Tourists most often visit Krupówki (the most famous street of the city), Gubałówka (funicular). A popular ski jumping hill - Wielka Krokiew was also built here, where ski jumping competitions take place every year. Although Zakopane is generally a very crowded city, we can also find its nostalgic side here. We can go to Pęksowy Brzysk, a historic cemetery. The graves of well-known and distinguished people for the Tatra Mountains make a really big impression. Someone who prefers winter sports can go to Białka Tatrzańska or Bukowina Tatrzańska. There are large ski complexes, hostels and hotels. The Tatras are mountains for professional and skilled tourists. Many trails are difficult and very dangerous, so be prepared before you go. Even the smallest mistake can end badly, so there is no room for bravado and recklessness. If the tourist is not experienced, a good option for him is to choose simple trails, stretching along wide valleys. These include: the Białego Valley, the Mała Łąki Valley, and the Strążyska...
