The total length of the Kościeliski Stream within the Tatra Mountains is about 8.5 km. Because a significant part of the rocks flowing over the stream is susceptible to karst processes, it has definitely less inflows than the Chochołowski Stream. Also for this reason, the nature of the stream changes along its course from drainage to power supply and vice versa. The average flow volumes per year reach over 1500 liters per second. A large part of this water due to the incompatibility of the surface and underground catchment comes from the Mała Łąki Valley. The Małołącki stream flows through the smallest of the general valleys of the Polish part of the Tatra Mountains. The stream itself is short, it does not exceed 3 km. Little water flows in it: 150-200 liters per second. Most of the rainfall falling with rain or snow to the Mała Łąka valley area through karst systems flows to the Kościeliski stream.
