Kasprowy Wierch is located in the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains and is also on the Polish-Slovak border. The summit towers over three general valleys: the Bystra Valley and the Valley of Sucha Woda Gąsienicowa on the Polish side and the Cicha Valley on the Slovak side. Is a keystone for 4 ridges. The name Kasprowy Wierch comes from the Hala Kasprowa at the foot of the summit, which, in turn, according to folk tales, is named after the name or nickname of its owner - highlander Kasper. It is built of crystalline rocks (granodiorites and pegmatites), despite its location in the younger part of the Tatra Mountains built of sedimentary rocks. It belongs to the so-called crystal island of Goryczkowa. Steep slopes (almost walls) descend only to the Kasprowa Valley. There are several gullies in them, the best known of which is Gleb pod Finger. From all other sides, the peak of Kasprowy Wierch is easily accessible. Just below the elongated summit of Kasprowy Wierch, at an altitude of 1959 m a.s.l. there is a building in which there is a bar, restaurant, kiosk, waiting room for those waiting for the downhill ride, ski storage room, toilet and winter TOPR station. From the building to Sucha Przełęcz leads a paved stone pavement with a length of about 200 m. In the region of the botanists found several very rare plants, which in Poland occur only in the Tatra Mountains and in few places only: alpine blizzard, triple scales and Tatra valleys .
